The Mechanical Online Blueprint I [M.O.L.B. I]: The Landing Page
The Important of Landing Page ( What Im learn from MOLB by Alex Edevane)
The purpose of your landing page is to create excitement and an URGE,
so that people who arrive at it will feel they HAVE TO subscribe to the
mailing list. Note, I stress “have to.” Your job is to create a situation in
which visitors will feel they have to respond.
The only way to create excitement and necessity is to offer people
information that is, or at least seems, unique. As I mentioned earlier, the
information can be an e-book, report, lesson, article, or a combination of
these. Remember one very important thing: in marketing what counts is
the way you present the information. I have already talked about that
earlier in the course.
The way you present what you will provide to the subscriber if he or she
subscribes to your list is simple: a lot of content that will help him or her
achieve what he or she is looking for, but for free! You have to give
people the feeling they will receive what they are looking for, the same
value, but without having to pay for it.
Let’s go over a few examples.
Suppose you are building a list for people who are interested in trading
forex (which, by the way, is a very big and lucrative market).
You have to understand what these people are looking for.
Obviously, they are looking for ways to either make money trading
foreign exchange (currencies). Or they might be looking for general
education to expand their knowledge. Be that as it may, their objective is
quite straightforward. And by the way, and please remember this, for
each of CB’s sub-category products there is an objective potential clients
are looking for. At the end of the day, these are products that somehow
aim to help people solve some type of problem or fulfill a need.
So, how would you convince people of the need to subscribe to your list?
Very simple! You provide them with information that will help them in
their objective. However, since this is free information, you are not bound
by the price-to-value element. In other words, when people buy a product
they pay money for it and hence expect full value for their purchase. But,
when people get information for free, the element of price-to-value does
not exist. However, and this is very important, this does not mean you
can provide useless information. A balance has to exist.
On the one hand, you have to provide enough quality content to your
subscribers to keep them happy. On the other hand, the information you
provide has to be “lacking” content that can be obtained only when
purchased. This way you are keeping your subscribers happy and open to
suggestions for products you promote to them.
Let’s look at an example of a landing page in this specific industry:
